Of course he doesn't know how to debate. This was Trump's FIRST 1v1 debate and he had to partially debate the moderator. For someone who has been doing this for 1.5 years vs someone who has been doing this for 40 YEARS, I think he did fantastic. Overall though, Hillary did look more prepared, but she should have OBLITERATED him based on experience alone. How many 1v1 did she have with Bernie Sanders to prepare her for this? How about Obama? How about during her Senate run?  She is a professional politician. Debate effectiveness comes with the territory. Donald Trump is a businessman and negotiator. Debating is new to him. I won't dock him points for not looking like an all-star vs Clinton.

 

Donald Trump does not need a lot of experience debating one on one to understand this: if a moderator gives the other person two minutes to answer a question, his job is to wait that long before saying anything.

Yeah, there was a lot of "Nafta is terrible, it's the worst deal ever, it's cost us jobs..." That's fine if you already believe Nafta is terrible. But I don't see how such statements can persuade the white collar white people he needs to win over to get more votes than Clinton. No specifics. I'm watching. I don't like Hillary Clinton. Fair markets and trade that benefits small business and the middle class.  You have to set up rules (ie regulations) in order to stop corporations from turning the market into a monopoly or oligopoly.

 

Governments should be the refs that allow the game to be played on an even level.  And there should be rules that disallow monopolies and oligopolies to form. 

 

Wouldn't you rather have a whole bunch of competition instead of Walmart and Target colluding.  Wouldn't you like choice instead of having to buy Comcast for your cable service?

I moved down here almost five years ago and still want to know why cable service monopolies are legal in Florida. Mom thinks the only reason we are stuck with Cox is other companies don't want to do business in Alachua County. I don't buy that argument for one second. If federal anti-monopoly laws existed, at least one other company would have to move in whether they like it or not. Cox is terrible and due to being a local monopoly its prices are way out of control. Every year hundreds of customers including my mom call Cox to have their TV service canceled after the Super Bowl because of prices. You can't buy a cable box because they make more money by renting them. It is so expensive because no competitors are in town to keep prices affordable.

Except it's patently false. The unemployment rate in Ohio and Michigan are anywhere near the 10,000 leaving that he was talking about last night.


Both states are below the national average unemployment. Even the governor who is a Republican by the way had called it a lie.


Donald decided to bring Ford to the story, but it's a well-known fact that Fords plan is to produce two other models so they're shifting their small car production to make room. So what's this plant to interfere with manufacturing? To tell them that they can't run their business the way they see fit to maximize profits?

She lied about it being ineffective. It was highly effective. Also, it is unconstitutional in the sense that you can't use it on the basis of race, which is absolutely true and why it was ended (though it is argued this could have been fought in court but it wasn't). Stop and frisk with its original intent (which is in effect in cities across the country) is absolutely constitutional.

Hmm, maybe. Nobody switched from Hillary to Trump and vice versa over this, regardless of who they thought won. I support Trump and even I think Hillary "won" the debate. Did the undecideds notice a bias in moderation? Gravis did a poll and, though Hillary won the debate by 5%, the undecideds ticked towards Trump. Maybe some of them move over this, maybe not. I read somewhere that over half of the debate viewers dropped off after 40 minutes, I will have to find that source. If all they saw was Trump's early domination, then I could see undecideds moving over that.
