Actually, given that it's a category 4 hurricane that might actually make landfall there before hugging the coast clear up through Jacksonville, I think it's more likely that he doesn't want to die.

I had saw that one particular track earlier this week and kind of laughed it off. Now I wonder if it really will circle back thru.

I told my husband it would be beyond jacked up if it went and hit Haiti, Jamaica, the Bahamas and Cuba again. Especially Haiti.

Is Clay County inland enough to avoid flooding? My parents live in Middleburg, and I'm worried about them.

 

Flooding is more a function of terrain than location. I lived near the coast when a hurricane dumped 18" of rain in 36 hours. We weren't flooded because the land around was so flat everything just ran off toward the ocean.


 

Of course we were required to pay $500 per year for flood insurance because we lived in "a flood zone."

No that would be Frances from 2004. That dirtbag moved at a pace of a few mph I believe, maybe even less. Was hammered for two days straight with no power for a week.
