I think most understand that has more to do with an extremely weak QB class than Kaaya being anything special as a college QB.

 

Though I will say, the thread opening post is a bit misleading.  It begins with the title of who's the best college QB, then later ends by adding the caveat "as a draft prospect."

Not exactly. The rule is three years after high school, so he could have declared last year and skipped Florida altogether. But nobody would have wanted a guy who only played spot duty for two seasons.

Kizer sucks. I've seen him twice this year and he was terribly inaccurate and looked lost in the pocket. Watson reminds me of RG3. He just doesn't look like a natural passer to me. He relies way too much on his athleticism and is slow to make decisions. Jackson has the body of a CB. His legs are like twigs. No way he holds up as an NFL QB. Mitch Trubisky is the best pro QB prospect in college football, but if he declares, we'd likely need the #1 overall pick to get him or at least a top 3.

I watched the Texas game, and am watching the game right now. I just think Kizer looks like a solid prospect. It has obviously been a small sample size though. I haven't seen Turbisky yet, but I've read this a few times.

Because of the offense he is in, I wouldn't touch him in the first round. His learning curve in the NFL will be massive.

What does the offense he is in have anything to do with it? A lot of QBs including our own Blake Bortles and Blaine Gabbert were known to require a learning curve because of their college offenses and drafted early.

 

Of course I am not saying Trubisky should be a first round pick.
