One more comment. If Johnny was 6 foot three. I really do have a feeling all the nonbelievers what actually want him to play for us.

Everyone talks about how hard his transition to the pros will be but never talk about what he gains in play action which he never ran in college and will take advantage of with boot legs by throwing on the run. If you look at his and Wilson's college tape you would take him over Wilson where he faced better competition, has better accuracy, and is more mobile. He also had a similar style #1 wr in mike evans like nick toon where the qbs took advantage of their height.
"Get Better Everyday"
Manziel could be 6'6, and unless he had a skillset that better translates into the NFL, I still wouldn't want him.
NFL Defenses will make him stay in the pocket. They're going to abuse his skillset, and make him play his weaknesses. People are too SEC Gung Ho. Yeah, SEC has good defenses. Closer to the NFL than any other conference probably. But it's still closer to the other conferences than it is to the NFL.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:One more comment. If Johnny was 6 foot three. I really do have a feeling all the nonbelievers what actually want him to play for us. Nope if his skillet wasn't somewhere between tebow and rg3 I would want him watching him he sets his mind on what he is going to do before the play and doesn't adapt For example against Alabama he escaped pressure in the pocket and then throws a massive jump ball in the middle of the field and is bailed out by his receiver Added his long passes wobble like anything, short passes have zip but he was bailed by mike Evans being a beast on the deep ball He runs QB draws all the time and with defenders getting quicker and learning to play the run he won't be able to do that in the NFL with as much success this year has shown us dual threat and are better provided they have the arm to go with it his feet are special but I have not.seen anything from his arm to want him here Quote:lol....get used to it....we have 4 more months of this Yep, the debate is just beginning.

I'm beginning to notice a stark similarity on these boards between Tebow and Manziel. I can't even remember the count of how many new accounts posting brand new topics on here clamoring for Tebow. It was blatantly obvious from the start that these people were not Jags fans wanting Tebow, but Tebow fans wanting him. A major argument back then was that it wasn't worth adding a group of transient fans of the player that would never have loyalty to the team unless said player was not just on the team, but starting. As soon as he was signed and not starting they would leave the fanbase, or if he had the chance and failed after a year or two and was released again they would be gone too. I feel that is what is happening with Manziel too.
I feel like this is what is happening with Manziel too (on a smaller level of course...for now). Every week we get a new person on here making a new topic (usually on the Jaguars forum incorrectly, and not the college forum). They all make the same types of heart over head arguments too: forget about the fact that he's probably not even 6' (that just means he's Brees or Wilson!!), forget about all of the perfectly clean pockets that he scrambles from because he panics after 2 seconds in it, forget about the plethora of turnovers and should've been turnovers because of horrible decision making, forget about the fact that he almost tore an ACL and separated a shoulder this year because he has no clue how to protect himself when he does run. Forget all of that because gaudy stats in a souped up offense surrounded by absurdly good talent, and because Heisman (but actually do forget about Detmer Toretta Wuerffel Weinke Crouch White Leinart etc), and because PLAYMAKING, and because SEC, and especially because FORCE OF COMPETITIVE NATURE! I know I know, TLDR sorry

Quote:I really hope we draft Johnny Manziel Tim Tebow in this upcoming draft. I think he is going to be a great leader for this football team and a spokesman for the city. He reminds me a lot of Mark Brunell but more of a vocal leader and most likely a better football player. He will bring a lot of emotion and excitement to our city that is desperately clambering for just that. Anyways, that is my pick and it doesn't matter where we are picking, just pick him please Mr. Caldwell!! Quote:I'm beginning to notice a stark similarity on these boards between Tebow and Manziel. Quote:I think the similarity is with the Tebow threads and those for Bridgewater. Don't they both walk on water? So how many accounts have you seen made to try and convince us we need to draft Bridgewater to "fill the stands". You just hate Teddy because he is obnoxiously religious. Quote:So how many accounts have you seen made to try and convince us we need to draft Bridgewater to "fill the stands".And you're obviously suffering from a head injury. Have you read all the posts about Teddy being in the same league with Aaron Rodgers, etc. ,etc.? People think he'll "fill the stands" because he'll have us in the playoffs automatically. He'll save the franchise! Tedy is religious? He'll fit right in here in Jax.

Quote:And you're obviously suffering from a head injury. He asked if you saw any new accounts here propping up Teddy. Teddy won't be brought in to fill the seats. He'll be brought in to play Quarterback. Since, you know we need one. But I forgot. You believe in Henne. You're probably the only one.
