Week 14 Games Of Interest
|
Quote:I am looking at a head to head game. It does not get any clearer then that. I do hate OSU, but that has nothing to do with this situation. If Penn State wins Saturday and is left out and Ohio State is in, it is a crap situation, no better then the BCS. If you only care about HTH games, explain to me why Clemson is better than Pitt. Same exact thing. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:If you only care about HTH games, explain to me why Clemson is better than Pitt. Same exact thing. That makes no sense whatsoever. Both are in opposite conferences and has no bearing on the Penn State and Ohio State argument. None, how can you not see that? You are bringing up nonsense that does not pertain at all.

Quote:That makes no sense whatsoever. Both are in opposite conferences and has no bearing on the Penn State and Ohio State argument. None, how can you not see that? You are bringing up nonsense that does not pertain at all. Opposite conferences? They are both in the ACC. It makes no sense to blind Buckeyes haters who are looking for reasons to deny Ohio State is the best Big 10 team. I was rebutting your claim that simply winning the HTH meeting makes PSU better than OSU. Quote:Then she will stop replying, right? That's the pattern I've seen. Just prove her wrong. She ignores you when you prove her wrong.
Quote:I think Ohio State is better than Penn State, not Michigan. When did I say Ohio State is better than Michigan? Just pointing out the facts that are relevant to the CFP committee. You said: "I know Ohio State is in the same boat, but the Buckeyes actually beat Michigan, so we already know who the best team in the Big 10 is." We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Just prove her wrong. She ignores you when you prove her wrong. I see that Quote:That is why head to head matters. That is why there are divisions, like it or not, that is another discussion. I, for one, do not like these conference championship games at all. If there weren't separate divisions in the conferences, then yeah, championship games with the legit top 2 teams would be good. But, just as we saw from the SEC during some seasons, one side of the conference housed the best few teams in the conference. But, only one was allowed to play in it against the winner of a much weaker division. Wisconsin lost head to head against both Michigan and Ohio State. But, here they are in the championship game. Do away with conference championship games,, or do away with these ridiculous divisions.
Quote:You said: Reread my post about Michigan being the fourth Top 10 opponent Ohio State defeated. I asked you how many Top 10 teams were on Michigan's schedule.
Quote:Reread my post about Michigan being the fourth Top 10 opponent Ohio State defeated. I asked you how many Top 10 teams were on Michigan's schedule. You asked me how many top 10 teams Michigan beat and I told you 3. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
But you said:
You said: "I know Ohio State is in the same boat, but the Buckeyes actually beat Michigan, so we already know who the best team in the Big 10 is." How do we know that simply because the Buckeyes beat Michigan?
Quote:You asked me how many top 10 teams Michigan beat and I told you 3. And Ohio State beat four. Michigan was one of them.
If PSU wins against Wisconsin I would have a hard time leaving them out.
I'm sure the committee would love to put both OSU and Michigan in to set up a rematch. The ratings would be off the charts and the $$$ would be raining in. In my opinion based on their play alone RIGHT NOW my rankings for the B1G would be 1. Michigan 2. PSU 3. OSU
The CFP committee would have an easy time leaving Penn State out if it puts more emphasis on the strength of schedule, which obviously favors Ohio State, and who beat Michigan. Conference champions are favored, but that isn't required. As you pointed out, money is a big reason for the controversy over two teams from the same division getting in a four-team playoff. It is a good thing Alabama and Clemson don't have to worry about this issue in their conferences.

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening. Quote:If PSU wins against Wisconsin I would have a hard time leaving them out.Difficult to determine IMO. All 3 teams are 1 and 1 in a round robin format. Two of those teams lost an additional game compared to the 3rd team. One of those two loss teams lost to two teams in their conference. With all of that said I can't wait to see how this all shakes out. Can you imagine the chaos should both Clemson and Washington both manage to lose?

They are both in the ACC.Apologuze, I meant same division within the conference. If Pitt was, even with the Clemson win they wouldn't be in, just like Ohio state. Record in conference determines that. Head to head, in conference, once again, matters. What happens on the field, matters. How does a head to head win not determine who is better? Why even play the games then????!!!!????

Quote:My thoughts exactly and to expand on that concept; 10 teams to a conference, everyone plays head to head. Winner of each conference moves on. Agree on 10 teams in each conference. One reason I prefer the NFL by far is it has eight four-team divisions that cannot be expanded or reduced.
Quote:So? So if strength of schedule is a factor, Ohio State gets in and Michigan stays home. I don't know how important SOS is this year but in the BCS era it mattered. |
