Week 14 Games Of Interest

#61

Quote:So if strength of schedule is a factor, Ohio State gets in and Michigan stays home. I don't know how important SOS is this year but in the BCS era it mattered.

No one is saying Michigan should be in over Ohio St.

Who do you think is better? You said............... "so we already know who the best team in the Big 10 is"

so who do you already know is the best team in the Big 10?

Ohio State. of course.

I will be cheering hard for Wisconsin tomorrow because Penn State should not be the East representative.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Even though PSU has been on a roll lately, Wisconsin is the much better team IMO.

I think Wisconsin wins it.

But, we'll see.

Quote:Clemson clinched an expected trip to the ACC Championship Game. Without wearing blue and maize glasses, would you pick a team that did not win its division over a CCG loser?

I know Ohio State is in the same boat, but the Buckeyes actually beat Michigan, so we already know who the best team in the Big 10 is.

Quote:I think Ohio State is better than Penn State, not Michigan. When did I say Ohio State is better than Michigan? Just pointing out the facts that are relevant to the CFP committee.

I find it interesting that people like criticizing me for being a Buckeyes homer, but say no such thing about Hail, the ultimate Michigan homer.

"who do you think is the best team in the B1G?"

No kidding! Because most people seem to want two Big 10 teams in the playoffs, even though many disagree on who they should be, Colorado will get more love than Washington tomorrow.

I don't. Michigan has no business being close to the discussion with two losses in three weeks, one of which was to Iowa.

Is that the only reason you don't want two Big 10 teams in the playoffs? If you were completely neutral about the Buckeyes, would you want them in?

I am done arguing about the Big 10 East division. Nobody is going to accept the fact that Ohio State is better than Penn State because I have exhausted all of the reasons that make sense. Agree to disagree.

Now, on to the BTCG . . . Go Badgers!

You should hope so because otherwise it might be a FSU vs MI orange bowl and FSU isn't winning that son.

You contradict yourself. See my post above.

Sometimes what seems like a contradiction is actually a correction of a previous statement. Other times I don't say what I mean the right way and it is misinterpreted by the reader.

To be clear, my opinion about Ohio State being more deserving of a Big 10 East title than Michigan is beating four top 10 teams including Michigan, not just that one game.

Yeah, with that juggernaut offense Michigan has.

I don't know about "juggernaut offense" but it certainly is better than your team's this year.

We most certainly have a juggernaut defense.

Do you really think FSU would beat Michigan?

Is it though?

FSU offense: 25th nationally at 474.2 ypg

Michigan offense: 49th nationally at 439.3 ypg

They certainly can. Michigan isn't Alabama. FSU is starting to finally hit their stride. I think our defensive ends would give Speight fits.

I think that would be a pretty good game.

Michigan's defense would give FSU a serious challenge. FSU's offense would have a tough time. Michigan's offense is not near as strong as their own defense (although they still are pretty good). FSU's defense would probably be a tough matcup for them.

I'd pick Michigan to win. But, it wouldn't surprise me to see a really good game and even a FSU victory.

It depends on how some of these CCG games go.

If Colorado and VaTech end up knocking off Washington and Clemson, Michigan is in really good shape to get back in.

I don't know if only one of those schools (Clemson or Washington) losing is enough to get UM back in it. It's possible,, but not sure about it.
