D'Onta Foreman to enter 2017 NFL Draft

Quote:Not seeing it man. He just doesn't look like a special runner. The last clip is against an awful 0-8 Kansas team, his feet looked slow to me.

All I can say is, I have no clue why you're missing it. He looks like the best runner coming out of college that I've seen in at least 5 years and there have been some very talented guys that have entered the league in that time period. I see power, acceleration, a quick burst and terrific balance and vision. The only question I have about him is his ability to be a receiver and that's only because he had very few chances to showcase this at Texas, so it's a complete unknown.

Walter Payton was a poor receiving back when he hit the NFL. He made himself into a good one.

Not making a comparison of course, just a statement

The next fat boy eddie lacey.  bust.   Got all those rushing yards playing against sissy Big 12 defenses.

Just seeing different things I guess. I don't see that elite burst that the best running backs do and while agile for a guy that big he isn't very agile. Looks like Blount or a less athletic Derrick Henry

. I don't see the feature back you see. Wouldn't take him any higher than the 3rd.

Neither. This is a very deep RB draft we don't need to give up a ton of draft capital to get one. If a good RB is there with our 2nd rounder that's the earliest I would consider taking one.

If Dave is still here it is all moot though. He isn't giving up on his 2nd rounder from last year or his top 10 paid FA RB from this year.

They're [BLEEP] animals nothing more. If people want to fight dogs, cats, chickens etc let them do it as long as they treat people DECENTLY.

I like how this went from animal cruelty straight to dog fighting. The racial implications of that are almost as bad as the idea you can do whatever you want to animals. Enjoy this ban.

Racial implications? Please show me where. I remembered an article I read last year about the whole issue of mistreating the dogs as a means to use them for fighting. Didn't care about it then don't care about it now. Love to see how they justify a NON racial implicating ban as a racial implicating ban.

Quote:Look at any scouting report on the kid. He's considered one of the top pass blockers in the NCAA at his position. As for receiving, that's all scheming. If he's not targeted in the passing game, how is he supposed to feature that skill set? There have been a ton of premier rushers in the NFL who were not known for being much of a receiver in college, because they weren't targeted. Once they were given that chance in the pros, they thrived. Right now, that is an unknown part of his game, because he hasn't been given a chance. All I can say, is that his twin brother plays WR for the Longhorns, so his brother has the genes to be a decent receiver. I see no reason why D'Onta wouldn't inherit at least some of that particular skill set.

From what I've seen, his pass-blocking basically amounts to looking around for a second and then standing next to a lineman already blocking someone leaving either the edge or the middle open(but this a small sample size from two games on Draft Breakdown). I'll wait for more of his games to get posted before going one way or the other on this. He does throw a pretty good cut block, though

With receiving, unless he actually does it, you can't automatically assume he's good at it. He does fine catching pitches from what I've seen, but that's a far cry from having to make catches out in space or over the middle, so yeah, no calling him a "complete back" until he shows he can do it. His brother being a receiver is very much irrelevant to how good a receiver D'Onta might be.

ACC rushing yards/rushing TDs/yards from scrimmage for a 3 year player Dalvin Cook is #1. He didn't even start his first season until week 5. Give me Cook over any other backs.

I like this guy a lot. I would definitely forego drafting a lineman if it meant getting him in the second. Dude looks like Good Eddie Lacy (not the fat one that's always hurt). He has the size of Derrick Henry but is not stiff as hell like him and has some wiggle and looks like he's running a damn 4.45 at 250lbs. Freak. Texas didn't use him a lot in the passing game but that doesn't mean he can't catch. If he's on the board when we pick Dave should sprint to the podium himself.
