If I was a GM I wouldn't even show up for the 40 yard dash portion of the combine. It's proven to be completely useless, and if you do put stock in it it can actually be detrimental to an evaluation.

Calm down people it's his rookie season... Dee Ford was a lot worse his first two seasons now he's one of the top sack leaders in the league this year

Because I'm pissed at what I see from Fowler and all of our other high draft picks/free agents. Then I think about how bad this coaching staff is to get a delay of game on a kickoff, 7 false starts and completely blow a halftime ending drive with timeouts left and know there's a lot of guys not playing to their potential.

I was fine with any one of Fowler, Beasley, Cooper or Williams in that draft, in no certain order.

You say you don't have a bias against him, but you saying you put so much time in watching these players, you should know that judging a player off his rookie season is just beyond stupid man, especially for a pass rusher. They take time to develop.

The situations they're (Beasley and Fowler) being put into is a huge difference maker also. If you think there's no difference between 2 rookies learning from each other and a 2nd year player learning from a HoF has little difference, then I dunno what to say to you.

Same if you don't think the entire out comes and flow of games have a difference in how things play out. I'd love to see some hard numbers of how many true pass rushing chances Beasley has had this season, compared to how many Fowler has had. I'd be willing to bet Beasley has had at least 3 times more chances than Fowler.

Especially since Fowler is being asked to play the run and Beasley is pretty much a pass rusher at this point.

Vic Beasley has 13.5 sacks and leads the league. One of these days we're gonna quit passing on these ends who turn my all pros. Recently we've missed on JJ Watt to take a bust quarterback. Ansah to take a bust left tackle named The Joke. Khalil Mack to take another bust quarterback and now Beasley to take probably a soon to be bust Fowler.

Can't really fault the Joke pick. He was considered the safest pick in the draft and one of the best left tackle prospects in a while. Ansah was really raw and had more ??? marks.

not sure if this is a serious post or not but the Texans picked Watt one pick after we took Gabbert back in '11.

Second pick in the draft I'm not looking for safe I want dynamic playmaker. Protecting Johnny Manziel who ran away from defenders his damn self most the time isn't really showing me he was this great left tackle. When Kansas City passed on him for a lesser known school tackle I knew then something was wrong with him. But I'm not a take a tackle top five in the draft person so it wasn't a good pick regardless to me. Fowler seemed more raw and had more question marks than Beasley but that didn't stop us from taking the wrong guy there.

Beasley, Watt, Ansah, Mack...all 90+ percentile athletes. Crazy how sometimes it really is that simple.

FWIW, I liked Beasley over Fowler. I thought he was a better athlete, had a better bend, and was quicker off the edge. But I still think Fowler can be a productive player with a better coaching staff. Move him around a bit and see what he can do at OLB also.
