Fournette or Cook (merged threads)

It doesn't matter how good of a RB either is.  If you don't have OL to block for them, what difference does it make?  We seriously need help on the OL!  But, since there are no top flight OTs in the top half of this draft, we need to find one or two in FA.  If that happens, I'm fine with taking a RB at 4. In which case, Fournette is CLEARLY the better RB!

No he's not. If you want to say that Cook is the better route runner I don't have much to argue on that but Fournette can definitely contribute to the pass game. Plenty of highlights on him after he catches the ball.

How good is Cook at using his strength to get yardage through the middle?

I'm not an expert, but Fournette appears better equipped to do that - and that's been something we've lacked recently.

That's what I've seen too. Fournette seems able to force his way and make a hole. Cook seems able to exploit holes and elude guys.

Fournette's game is better suited to our team. We need someone who can steamroll forward and shirt yardage and when there's not a big hole.

I wouldn't be upset with either, I'm just higher on Fournette

Not sure what you guys are watching. Fournette does not "force his way and make a hole" at all. In fact he's quite poor at running when there's not much there.

When he's running full speed, he can punish DBs unlike any other player, but running at full speed downhill isn't going to happen often in the NFL

Yeah I wouldn't say he forces a hole either and I'm one of his biggest fans. What he does do well in a similar regard though is fall forward and get a few extra yards any time he's tackled. So even though there isn't a big hole, he'll still muscle his way for more yardage every play

Cooks better hands+better routes = better receiving back

No not at all. Just you said Fournette and Cook were even as receivers is all.

That Cook is better catching and running routes. I was just telling the other guy that Fournette isn't bad at it

I think Fournette will be a better pro than he was a college player
