Fournette or Cook (merged threads)

(This post was last modified: 02-12-2017, 02:52 PM by Teal Time Radio.)

If I would compare cook to anyone it is Taylor.

-Great strength,

- Lethal Stiff arm

-outstanding elusiveness

-amazing speed

-Not afraid of hits

-breaks arm tackles like nothing

Look at it it's taylor.

People will think I am insane

But what are the chances tom returns

And a Taylor clone?

Plus what school have we had great success drafting.

Florida State.

This guy is amazing.

Nothing again Fournette.  But he doesn't fit Jacksonville cook does.

He's close to Freddie T no doubt.

What Jacksonville does is lose, maybe it is a good time to get back to the old Jaguars football. Run the ball and play defense like we did in our hey-day. I miss our tough reputation.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

That' s not exactly true though.

Mark Brunell 28,000 plus yards passing 162 or more tds

Jimmy Smith 12,287 with 67 tds

Keenan McCardell  6,393 yards  30 tds

add in Kyle Brady and a bunch of others.

But yes Fred Taylor did help  with his

11,300 or more yards 66 tds and 2,300 receiving with 8 receiving tds as well.

So yes,  love to see this style of football return.

Sure we could throw the ball and get some points that way, but the identity of the team, at least through my eyes was that of a tough team. Man, could we run the ball, that defense in 98/99 was a monster. Those late 90s Jag teams were more like the late 90s early 2000s Pittsburgh teams than the glass Cannon mid-2000s Colts teams.

I do agree.  When we could run.  Head and shoulders better on offense.

I gotta disagree. We could run very effectively multiple seasons with MJD, and our offense was not head and shoulders better then.

Our offense was head and shoulders better when it could throw effectively and efficiently.

Joe Mixon is Fred Taylor, well at least I can't think of any other 225 lb back that runs like this

It was a great run but with the off field stuff and an already stacked RB class, mixon should slide, especially since he didn't get invited to the combine.

If the jaguars can somehow steal from the draft again like they did last year, end up with someone in the first like Jon Allen, take the best OL at the top of round 2, and then somehow still come away with mixon, that'd be lethal.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Gotta go with LF

Cook has injury issues as well as off the field issues. Not to mention ball security

LF over Cook all day.

Cook will slide all the way down to the second round, with McCaffrey, and Mixon going ahead of him.

We'll see what happens at the combine, but I think someone pulls the trigger on Cook in the first. The colts, broncos, giants and packers all are probably keeping a close eye on him in the first.
