He is the only upgrade at LT that i see as available. My gut feeling is Andrew Whitworth would be more than willing to sign with the Jaguars if he receives a good offer The presence of Tom Coughlin at the top of the football operations of the organization, the team likely making a splash in Free Agency on top of the talent that's already been added in recent years, and no state income tax are all reasons that make the Jaguars football attractive.
Quote: On the surface, I certainly can understand and respect why you and many Jaguars fans would be concerned about what transpired today. Knowing the amount of experience is in the Jaguars brain trust, I truly believe they have a thought out plan, based on what they consider viable contingencies.Oh, I fully believe they have a plan of some sort, but I just hope it's not one of those times where they over think/over plan and end up shooting themselves in the foot over it. I like Kalil, but health is a big ? for him. Like I said earlier, there's still plenty of time left for them to work out some sort of a deal with Beachum still. Only time will tell, but I just hope they don't have to end up reaching for an OT in this draft and being forced to start him due to no better options at LT. This is insane. What are coughlin and Dave thinking? Beachum is an above average pass blocker, already proven, and could have been had at a great price. Now we're gonna try to overpay a 35 year old? Reach for cam Robinson when LT could have been set? I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit

I think there will be enough fall back plans in case preferred option 1 and 2 don't work out. One possibility if the top options don't work out might be for the Jaguars to sign Riley Reiff, who was an average LT before moving to RT in 2016, draft a developmental LT, and in the future when the developmental LT is ready, move Reiff to RT. And much warmer weather during football season after playing in Cincinnati his entire career. But that and the lack of state income taxes can also be had in Tampa and Miami. I don't know if they need left tackles. Do you think Andrew Whitworth would be an upgrade after 15 games with Kelvin Beachum? Quote: This was actually my first thought. And then my second thought was maybe his injury is worse than we realize and they dont want to take the risk. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. Quote:Whitworth isn't going anywhere let's be real. The Bengals aren't known for going the extra mile financially to keep players, when compared to many other teams.

Quote:He is safe, obviously. You sure? What if he drastically under performs in pre-season or what if he and TC don't get along? Neither are likely, I know, but I have to agree with him on this one. The fear of 'not being safe' contributes to players getting better and better. ![]() 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...

It's a pipe dream. Quote:And much warmer weather during football season after playing in Cincinnati his entire career. But that and the lack of state income taxes can also be had in Tampa and Miami. I don't know if they need left tackles. I don't expect the other two Florida teams to seriously go after Andrew Whitworth based on their rosters. The two players are different in styles. Kelvin Beachum is probably the better pass blocker at their respective stages of their careers. Andrew Whitworth is a much more physical presence. I think Whitworth's style appeals more to Tom Coughlin.
We already moved Linder from guard to center, so why not just take it a step further and move him to left tackle????
