Quote:McCaffrey with the great routes and hands. Dude is a matchup nightmare. He and Ivory would be a good duo.

God I hope somebody takes him before the Patriots pick...

I haven't had chance to watch until now, have the RB's done both tries at the 40?

Quote:eh, 10 is enough.  he obviously realizes that his receiving skills are what separate him from the rest so it's probably a good thing that he keeps working on his route running and receiving skills.

Why isn't he projected to be a WR? His skill set, lineage and strength issues say he would be better off as a slot WR.

official times:

Cook 4.49

Fournette 4.51

McCaffrey 4.48

Kamara 4.56

Cook and McCaffrey squeek into the 4.4s... good times.

i don't think what he's labeled at is important.  He may line up half the time in the slot.

You can still watch it. Go here and you can go back and watch the whole day from the beginning if you really want to.

yeah, like us in a trade up after we take Adams in the 1st

Quote:that's a different argument than saying "our offensive line is bad, we shouldn't draft a RB that high"...

you just have to see whether you think some RB at 4 is worth it more than a defensive player at 4.

you don't want to be drafting sammy watkins if you can have Khalil Mack and Allen Robinson in the 2nd for example.

I think having a special RB is important. not a decent one, not a good one - but a special one.

We have Ivory and Yeldon.. how many of these RBs do you really think will be significant upgrades over those 2? In this entire draft I see about 3 maybe 4 running backs that are better. Cook, Fournette, Mixon, and an honorable mention is McCaffrey who is more of an overall offensive weapon.

I think if you're going to IMPROVE the RB position, it has to be Cook, Fournette, or Mixon.

I don't think any of the other guys will do it.
The problem is that having a special RB isn't important any more. Blount, Freeman, Coleman, Sea RB, Murray, Starks.... all those RBs aren't anything special but they're playing in the playoffs. There's more to that list but you get the point.

AP is special but have they won anything with him? You need versatile RBs who can pass block. But most of all, you need an elite QB.

Freeman and Coleman are definitely special, and demarco is a damn good rb too. Unless special means to you is generational but thats just a pointless bar to aim for.

Not winning with AP doesnt negate his impact. Theres so much more to it than "They didnt win with him so he doesnt matter"

well, we all know you need an elite QB.

If you have an elite QB it can help on multiple levels.  AP being a great RB and not winning anything isn't an indictment on him... you have to build a good team and have a good QB.

It doesn't mean you shouldn't  look to improve certain positions until you have an elite QB.

the only thing cleatwood proved is that good QBs make it to the playoffs lol

Yea that's kind of the point lol

Having an elite RB doesn't mean anything. You win SBs with defense and QB play. Which is why I want a pass rusher at 4 and then a RB in the 3rd round. Build the Oline in FA and I think you have a playoff team next year.

I'm not convinced at all the NE takes a RB that early. They've never lost a game when Dion Lewis is healthy
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I meant Latavius Murray who started for the Raiders. I was referring to RBs who played in the playoffs.

Special to me does mean generational for the most part. I think the only special RBs out there right now are Bell, Johnson and Elliott. I think you have a lot of really good RBs but those guys are special.

with Logan Ryan and Hightower likely going elsewhere, I think they go defense. BB almost always goes D in the first

James White does everything mccaffrey does already, he might not be as good but from a value perspective that doesnt make sense especially not for them.
