Poe to Visit Jags

#21

Quote:Poe is over 70 lbs heavier than Thomas, they are completely different players. It doesn't mean that at all.

Yannick-Fowler

Poe-Jones

Jackson-Day

Cambell-Thomas

That's too many really good guys to split snaps. I'm not paying Cambell,Jackson, and Poe to be rotational guys, they should be on the field every down.

If it makes them all more effecitve, who cares? I'd much rather prefer a fresh 31 year old Calais Campbell (and Dontai Poe who's had back problems) than worn out ones

Poe is a nose tackle, they're always rotational guys.

Solomon/Malik/Poe/Calais in base and then Yannick/Malik/Calais/Solomon in nickel would be so awesome.

This would be amazing, I don't think Solomon will be there at 4 though

I think Jacksonville is attractive to Poe and his agent because of this. He won't be counted on to play the amount of snaps he'd be required to play in Indy (due to their talent baron D-line) which (in theory) should increase his effectiveness here. If this is what Poe and is agent are thinking it makes sense to sign a one year deal with Jax, dominate in limited snaps and get paid 2018.

I'm not sure if that is what they are thinking, but it certainly has some merit.

Exactly. Not to mention Campbell is in his 30s. Once his play falls off, we are in a good spot still with our depth.

Campbell, Malik, Poe, Ngokue/Fowler, that is a lot of beef up front.

TC likes to build from the line out.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

At this point of the free agency game (3 days in), its about positioning yourself for a big pay day in 2018 as the 2017 money has mostely dried up, Jacksonville gives him the best opportunity to maximize his talents, this man is going to get a lot of one on one opportunities, if healthy he should consistently win those and cash in in next year

As long as he does not end up in Indy, I'm fine.

That picture makes me uncomfortable.  What about you, Roger?

I'd sign him. He's only 26

Poe and Jones would be a nice rotation.

Exactly, and if he returns to his 2014 form he'd be a nice long-term replacement for Calais

Poe would be a great signing on a prove it deal.

He comes in and shines with the rest of the defense, he's gonna get paid and he's gonna get to stay with a nice defense.

If he is a dud, he's gone at the end of the season.

The potential upside is well worth the one year price.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
