3-4? Definitely a Miller Replacement. Possibility for a switch to 34

He would replace Roy Miller, Poe is a big man to have in the middle

It would be nice to snag him from Indy.

We're not switching to a 3-4

This is the most proactive I can recall the Jaguars organization being in the early part of the 21st Century!

Agreed. It's very nice to see for a change. And they're addressing multiple needs with solid value which should allow them to draft freely and be more willing to trade down or even take some chances.

His market was much softer than expected. It actually looks like he's going to have to settle for a one year prove it deal after underwhelming some the last couple years.

Didn't we just sign a NT? We are really going heavy DL. It seems more and more likely that DL and RB won't be drafted at 4.

Makes a lot of sense to take him on a 1 year deal. He'll be very good in a rotational role

Heavy and fresh rotation this year on defense in the trenches. This is great to see a lot of effort being sunken into this. We have a lot of veteran depth balanced out with a lot of young talent and returning talent. This should be the most competitive group during training camp if they land Poe now.

And in turn this should also make the offensive line better during contact drills and practices. Very, very cool man. I've pointed it out before but this is what Coughlin did in New York with the Giants. He stockpiled guys like Pierre-Paul, Tuck, Kiwanuka and Omenuria to rotate behind a guy like Strahan who was well established.

There is no such thing as a bad 1 year deal as the saying goes.

If we do get him you can throw Thomas and Allen ideas out the window

I think he'd be a great signing on a one year deal. High upside and he wouldn't count against the cap next year if he sucked.

Maybe. Maybe not. There's a lot of talk now that all first three draft picks will be defensive lineman. After Garrett you're probably looking at Allen and Thomas coming off the board. So this could be more of a fail safe than anything. We also have a lot of guys like Bennett, Day and a few other late draft picks from last year that may end up being cut once they start trimming down the roster to 53.

Poe is over 70 lbs heavier than Thomas, they are completely different players. It doesn't mean that at all.

Going to a 3-4 defense would be nice with the linebackers we have and it would help Dante fowler move around more
