Poe to Visit Jags

#41

I like these prove it deals. Amukumara played great, and he still only got a  prove it deal after. I kinda wish we got Amukumara back for the 1 year 7 mil along with Bouye.

With his age, the players we'll have playing around him and the fact that I don't want him playing for the clots, I'm in a don't let him in out of the building mode without a deal.

I'd like to sign him on a one year deal with a team option for a second year. If he plays well, take the option and then either trade him or let play him for another year.

Now that I think about it, I don't want him in Houston, either.

In fact, don't let him leave here without a deal.  We'd have so much flexibility with him.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

We would have flexibility.  He's one of those rare large and nimble players.  Bringing him in an keeping him on a lower snap count (they played him a LOT in KC!) would add a new dimension to the defense and offer more versatile line up packages to hopefully keep teams from converting those 3 and long plays we've given up for so long.

Josina Anderson Retweeted Jordan Mudd

A text yesterday evening to say the tour is going "all good."

So no not really any updates. If anything it sounds like he's planning on continuing with the other 3 or 4 visits they said were lined up.

From Rotoworld.....

Falcons trying to swoop in.....

<p style="background-color:transparent;">Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff said the team is working to make sure free agent NT Dontari Poe visits Atlanta before making a decision.

Poe has already visited the Colts and is meeting with the Jaguars on Monday. The Falcons are hopeful they can get him in the building and with the coaching staff before he makes a final decision, but Jacksonville loves defensive linemen and has the cap space to make Poe a Godfather offer. After a quiet start, it looks like Poe's market is heating up. 9:37am

Quote:Poe and Jones would be a nice rotation.
This is my thought.

Unless they are planning on de-emphasizing having a NT on base downs, you need another guy besides Abry on the roster.

Poe makes sense to anchor the middle in short yardage situations or anytime they are just focused primarily on taking away the run.

He and Abry are different enough that they can scheme how they rotate based on more than just "fresh legs."

Quote:Didn't we just sign a NT? We are really going heavy DL. It seems more and more likely that DL and RB won't be drafted at 4.

The guy we signed is a backup guy who probably doesn't make the final roster. What we can use is a legit starting-caliber NT to rotate with Abry.

I believe Abry Jones can do the same things Poetry can do but I don't mind him here.

So if Dontari lines up split and goes on the move, would it be poetry in motion?
