Nathan Peterman - QB - Pitt

#21

Quote:pros : Like his pocket awarness and he uses his eyes to move defenders. Above average arm strength. Not afraid to go for the big play even if a checkdown is available. Suprisingly mobile and can make defenders miss in and out of the pocket.

I feel like this is becoming a standard phrase in almost every qb prospect's scouting report

Most of his throws are on rollouts and they move the pocket for him a lot which is what we do with bortles and his arm strength is just average to below average. I mean the qbs outside of the top 4 are just bad this year,I don't like any of them.

I'm not a professional scout. But based on my coaching experience with QBs, I would say he has great footwork, not afraid to stand in the pocket and let play develop, throws spirals, throws to spots with anticipation, streaky passer in the crossing stuff.

Bad: hangs balls on fly patters which shows lack of arm strength, short, he has a small hitch in his throw, can't make the deep out throw, lacks accuracy in the deep game.

Reminds me of Chase Daniel

The top 4 aren't anything special, either.

I wouldn't be surprised if the best of the crop ends up being someone like Jerod Evans or Chad Kelly.

Still, that's not speaking well of the group as a whole - including the top 4.

Quote:Nathan Peterman is going to be one of those players that is around forever but has one or two legendary games and maybe a team signs him based on that. He reminds me a lot of Erik Ainge or Kevin O'Connell

I don't believe the Jags are realistically going to find a QB from this group. They are meeting with QB's just to make sure they are not missing anything. I could see them spending a 2nd or 3rd rounder at the position but lets not forget that you are still probably better off with Henne over all but two or three players in this draft.

I don't know.. I'm thinking there's maybe nine qbs in this draft that we're better off with than Henne.
