They're just gonna stack the box

Quote:I'd take Kizer.

Something just doesn't add up with Kizer.  I mean, how did ND get to be so bad with all of that talent and potential surrounding Kizer?

His 21 TDs and 10 INTs sure didn't help them.

Definitely looks the part (like Gabbert) but I think he lacks leadership or something.

Well if we can land Cam Robinson we could pretty good upgrade to the OL.

Allen Robinson loves the thought of teams stacking the box.

Quote:Love the first pick. However, unless we go get a QB tomorrow, teams will just stack the box.

If we come away with a QB then we can be a dark horse for the playoffs.
So, drafting someone in rounds 2-7 who will no doubt, best case scenario, be a project is going to magically keep teams from loading up the box?

Do you have any idea just how stupid that sounds?

Quote:Comparing Fournette to Trent Richardson? Come on man! The big concern with Fournette is getting better blockers on the Ol. Hopefully that will be addressed tomorrow.
Yea Fournette didnt play for Bama he played for LSU, I bet most on this board cant name one other player on that LSU offense, Bama always had a great OL, great college QBs and good WRs.

Fournette was great in college playing with a bunch of other crappy offensive players

I think Blake is more than capable of making simple reads and getting the ball to the open guy in single safety coverage. We had him doing things that he simply could not do last year and he was exposed. Blake in play action is an above average starter.

Adding a legitimate running threat to the offense helps take some pressure off of Bortles.  He won't have to put the ball up as often as he did last year, so hopefully that helps to minimize the mistakes, and simplifies things for him.  If they load up the box to defend the run, he is indeed capable of making plays.

I'm sure Coughlin never considered any of this...

So what you are trying to say is, if a qb is not taken tonight he should take a deep breath and refrain from starting 100 more anti Blake threads? Glad somebody finally said it!! Perhaps he could just post in the other 300 he has going.

We've been wanting them to stack the box for the last 3 years. Now you're complaining about it? Play-action deep passes will open it up.

Ramsay and Jack weren't good enough picks last year?

Lee is turning the corner. Hurns and ARob have potential. Now Fournette and Robinson...projected first rounder like Jack last year.

New coach and TC back...

What else ? Ok...you'll get excited when the wins come..then get back on the wagon.

I didn't mean to upset everybody.  Just hyped up for the draft and I want a QB as bad as yall want Lamp.  Well atleast we don't have to hear Lamp's name again.  If we can get Johnson in the 4th and Peterman somehow slips to the 5th then I'll be happy.

I'm still onboard with Blake.

Give him a better OLine and he can make plays. Fournette will be able to run the ball with decent coverage and we also know that Blake can also run with the ball.

Blake CAN pass and throw deep, but if he's left to do that every time mistakes will be made as we've seen. Most QB's would have struggled behind our OLine over the last couple of years, this is NOT exclusive to Blake Bortles.

80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...

Just wanted to point out Brunell was the most sacked QB 2 years in a row and he lead us to the playoffs and threw for 4300 yards and made the Pro Bowl.

This was before Taylor came along.

I guess you fail to remember all those great players Brunell play with my man. Stop crying about things that happen in the past and be a better example for yourself.

Play action baby
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
