That's how Pete Dye cleared out all of the land where he designed TPC Sawgrass.

That’s kinda “par for the course”. It’s a thing and they’ll wven eat poison ivy.  They’ll pretty much eat anything in their reach.  Unless it’s a full sized tree. I thought about using them on my property I don’t have yet.

Having to repair a top of the line Maytag Dishwasher two and a half years after buying it. It comes with a one year warranty. Of course additional warranties are available but I didn’t opt in because those cost almost as much as the machine. But still, the Whirlpool (same company as Maytag now) dishwasher it replaced lasted 17 years with zero problems. The only reason we replaced it is because we bought all new appliances to go along with out kitchen upgrade, plus the racks in it were disintegrating and the cost for replacements were as expensive as a new machine.

No worries. I’ll fix it myself. The part (drain pump) costs $42 online and seems like an easy swap. I expected better from a company like Maytag.

We bought a Maytag a few years ago, had them come out and install it. About 6 months later, everything just shut off on us one night. I got up the next morning, got my flashlight and started looking underneath it and the main hot wire came loose and was just hanging there.. So lucky it didn't ground itself out and start a damn fire.. I had to take the whole damn thing out and rewire everything myself, just to make sure all the wires were tightened down..

If you want it done right..

Dishwasher fixed. The cheap little chopper blade that snaps onto the end of the pump impeller broke in two and was binding the pump. Removed the chopper blade pieces and it works like a champ. The chopper blade isn’t necessary. Just need to make sure the dishes are rinsed well before loading.

I’d love to upgrade my dishwasher to a much newer model.  Mine has been really loud and a bit of a bear to listen to.  But the prices!  Jeez.  Between the lawyers and not knowing whether or not I get to keep the house and see my kid…just doesn’t seem worth it to replace her.

I feel that way about my combination sandwich maker/sex toy. I'd hate to end up doing those chores by hand all the time.

2. When the wife [BLEEP] about all my crap and how we need to get rid of stuff, then when I finally get on board and we pull out all my cool [BLEEP], hey we should “this” or “that” depending on the cool item. “Well…yeah! We should! That’s why I bought it! But, you never wanted to do it so it sat over there in the corner!!!”

Just depends on whether your version has Parkinson’s. The vibrating models are kinda cool.  You’ll have to take that into consideration and figure it out yourself.  Wish I could help more.  Good luck, buddy!  Let us know what you decide to do.

I love my parents…but…

When I’m asked if I have a .70 1/2” pvc coupling (so he doesn’t have to go and buy one).  I had one.  Then asked “do you need it? Yes I do, when I’m 15 minutes from the nearest hardware store and a riser decides to break.  But I’m glad I saved you .70 dad!  We’ll just have a guy break route when the time comes and add :30-:45 minutes to our day!  That, or I’ll go buy one to replace it.  .70 isn’t making or breaking the business for write offs.

Fast forward: hey dad, I’m looking to buy a 1300 item from HD.  Wanna ride along and I’ll give you my card for the vet discount?  He says yes.  Woo!  Then asked me how much it was.  He didn’t want them checking and seeing the card being used was a business or my personal card.  C’mon dad.  I saved you .70 and now I’m looking to save 130 you wanna play that?  He said yes if I gave him cash.  :eyeroll:  I’ll give you cash dad.  But seriously?

[BLEEP], second thought, maybe I shouldn’t do this.  If he’s asking favors for .70 and I save 130…. I may be asked for my TP that we all toss.  You know, that two to three sheets that are attached to the roll we all throw away.  I almost text him “never mind” but my wife said I WAS  being the [BLEEP].

You get to pick your friends, but not your relatives (or in-laws).

I get that.  And you’re right.  Are you suggesting that I think long and hard on how to screw my child over when she gets older?  Is that how it’s done these days? Serious question.   Just need to know how to adult and parent when my kid is older.  And possibly how to get the most money out of her.  I just kinda thought I wouldn’t be that guy.  I’ll take whatever help I can get. Or 130 bucks.

Oh, I’ll add this: my dad isn’t exactly hurting for money.  So imagine my surprise when asked about saving those .70 cents. He’s got well more than I do.

"One size fits most" on socks is a big fat lie. Also, "fits sizes 4-10" is a lie. Why can't socks be sized relative to shoe size?!

I wear a size 10-11 shoe depending on the brand. My Birkenstocks, both clogs and sandals, are a 40N (narrow) which is around an American size 10. My Altra sneakers are a size 11. My boots are 10.5 IIRC.

My feet will not fit into a shoe smaller than a 10 so why on earth should I have to try to stretch a sock on that, at best fits a size 7? A sock range of 9-11 would be perfect but can I find any? Nope. I found some years ago but they are now worn out and I need to find more.

Do guys have a better range when it comes to these things?

No, socks are the same way, but at least they stretch.  What really drives me nuts are sleeve lengths.  Sleeves don't stretch like socks do.  What's a 34/35 sleeve length?  Is it actually 34.5 inches?  Does it "fit" both, but neither well?
