Kavanaugh confirmation hearing

(This post was last modified: 09-23-2018, 11:16 PM by TJBender.)

And just within the last few minutes, an article dropped accusing Kavanaugh of engaging in gang rapes in high school.

Are you [BLEEP] [BLEEP] me? This is pathetic. This has to be criminal.

Want to end this one and for all? Round up all of his classmates, one by one. Phone, in person, whatever, tell each of them that they will be granted total immunity for all sex crimes they knew of or took part in and are willing to identify Brett Kavanaugh as a participant in. All they have to do is sit in front of the committee and say, "Yep, Brett did that."

Let's see if any roll over.

But the FBI doesn’t have jurisdiction. Even if they felt they had enough to charge him, they’d still have to refer to the local police department. Then they’d have to do their very own investigation.

If Ford wanted a formal investigation, she could simply go to the police. I don’t think she will because she doesn’t want a possible false reporting charge should it come out as blantantly false.

From What I Am seeing, this is Michael Avenati.

TJ. There is no end to this. Kavanaugh (potentially, that's the most messed up part about this) represents the 5th and deciding vote to overturn Roe V. Wade. The left was never going to just sit by and let that happen. They don't have the votes, so we are essentially being treated to the Heckler's veto. They are just going to keep inundating the process with sleeze until either the nomination is withdrawn or they win back the senate.

I have to tip my hat to Schumer and the Democrats. The minute that they got Chuck Grassley and the senate judiciary committee to BEG Christine Ford to testify with NO SUPPORTING EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER they won. Lindsey Graham put it simply and better than anyone to this point. Based on the initial information that was presented you couldn't issue a warrant, and no judge would take a civil complaint. There was nothing! The idea that they let the democrats have this long to scour the earth and find anyone who ever heard some rumor about a party back in the late 80's is a complete castration of the confirmation process. This is a circus.... It's a national disgrace.

In reality, there should be a rule. Republican, democrat, Independent, socialist, egalitarian, moon beam whatever... Any person that alleges criminal activity against someone sitting for confirmation better darn well have evidence. Otherwise, there are roughly 300 million people in this country. There is no shortage of cooks that will put on a show to get thrown out of a committee hearing, make up stories, shout down opponents and the rest of it. The idea that this was allowed to happen is ridiculous.

Moreover, whoever decided that Kavanaugh was a more logical choice than Barrett to sit for confirmation and potentially be the swing vote in the Roe decision should be fired. Tonight. If you can't see this tactic coming from ten miles away then you have no business in presidential politics.

Rose never seemed to get penalized for any bad shot he hit all week. He missed a 3 foot putt last 2 weeks ago and was rewarded the #1 ranking because of it and now wins 10m backing in to the fedex champion.

Having said that, Avenetti may screw this whole thing up for the Dems.

That's the silver lining.  Trump was in the double digits in accusations.   One witness came forward and disproved one and the whole house of cards came down.

He already has. Kavanaugh is about 24 hours away from being a footnote to history when he removes his name from consideration and Amy Coney Barrett finds herself before that committee instead. She's ideologically further right than Kavanaugh in just about every way, and unless the left has someone lined up who can claim that they were murdered by Barrett, it'll be hard to disqualify her on anything other than partisan grounds.

So basically, with the new democratic play book, only women and video game nerds who have never touched a woman will be eligible for these types of positions.

When it comes to false sexual assault accusations, people need to be held accountable.

Nah, they'll find a way to accuse them too. "She helped someone rape me by pinning my arms."

There's a very good chance that we are about to either:
a. Destroy a good man's career by succumbing to unproven (and unprovable) allegations
b. Confirm a serial rapist to the Supreme Court because the Democrats who knew of these allegations chose to withhold information material to the hearings until the last second

Neither one of those is acceptable.

I wouldn't QUITE put those two possibilities on equal footing

After talking through it with friends, I'd say there is a good chance of either. Ford has been essentially forced into hiding by death threats, her career is destroyed, her reputation is ruined...that takes some serious dedication to the cause if she's making it all up. Same with the other accusers who've come forward. It's entirely possible that she's telling the truth, either as she sees it or as it factually is. The real people to blame here are the Democrats that knew about this since July, but chose to question Kavanaugh on Hawaiian history rather than ask even indirectly about the allegations. Just had to ask:

"Have you ever attempted to initiate sexual contact with another person against their will?"

Seems like a much more valuable line of questioning than:

“In the piece you wrote, the Native Hawaiian community was not indigenous because, as you say, after all, they came from Polynesia. It might interest you to know that Hawaii is part of Polynesia so it's not that they came from Polynesia, they were a part of Polynesia."

Yeah, because the Left never ever lies about such things.

This is getting scary folks.

She's also the person that tried to discredit Kavanaugh because he couldn't recite the entirety of Hawaiian history, including the prehistoric parts. She's about as nutty as Elizabeth Warren.

A federal judge doesn't necessarily need to know the facts of Hawaiian history prior to their contact with Europeans.
However, if these facts are material to a case, and he refers to them in his written decision, and they are wrong, that's a pretty big deal, right?

He definitely said it. He said he said it. He just says it was a joke. The joke claim would be a lot more believable if the entire DoJ / FBI investigation hadn't already shown bias. Couple that with purposely hiding information during open-records request, then I question Rosenstein's character and his motives. He's the same guy that fought against releasing these text messages between Strozk and Paige under the guise that it would damage government intel operations. That makes him a liar.

Also, there isn't a very good chance Kavanugh is a serial rapist. None of the claims even reference rape, and the most reliable "victim" is a joke.

Yeah, because the Left never ever lies about such things.
Still, even you would have to admit that accepting the consequences of a lie like that is not something a normal person would do. And spare me your usual, "libtards aren't normal people" routine, please. Stepping up and volunteering to nuke your own life to accuse someone else of attempting to rape you 36 years ago is a massive sacrifice, and even the far left would have a hard time seeking someone out willing to make that story up.

A bigger deal than someone accusing the judge of attempted rape?

Again, the Democrats knew about these accusations months ago. Even if Ford had requested complete anonymity and the Democrats had honored that request, why would you be asking about the history of Hawaii instead of saying, "Judge Kavanaugh, have you ever attempted to initiate sexual contact with another person against their wishes?".

To be honest, it could also simply be a case of TDS. TDS makes people do irrational things, even if it means destroying their own careers.

At the end of the day, whatever she THINKS happened isn't provable.
