Leadership is completely at fault for what has happened to Bortles, but it all started in season 1.

Chad Henne sucked so badly that they were forced to abandon their plan in week 3 of sitting Bortles all year to learn. Who knows if sitting would have changed the finished product we see today, but I think BB5 played better when he had a "nothing to lose" attitude and could be himself. Once there was film on him and his mechanics eroded so badly, the writing was on the wall.

Now he is a guy who plays scared and can't play with the "gun slinger, short memory" mentality he had during his time of success.

The guy is finished on this team. Not saying he can't resurrect himself for another franchise, but he is done in Jax.
