You vote for and praise Trump as if he were a North Korean dictator - because he said he was going to withdraw from Afghanistan. Yet you criticize Obama because he tried to withdraw from Iraq (he created ISIS! he created ISIS!). You still pretend Trump is running against Obama - would someone please get Jared to tell Donald that the election is over and he won.
And without a moment's embarrassment you praise Trump for his "strategy" re Afghanistan.
Just admit it - you don't care about policies or his agenda. You voted for the anti-Hillary and this is what you got.
As I told Stroud - Obama tried to get out of Irag and is accused of helping ISIS. So people vote for the guy who said he wants to get out of Afghanistan. Would Trump be accused of helping the Taliban by the Right? Somehow I doubt it.
Please watch the pbs documentary losing iraq. It faults both Bush and Obama for messing up Iraq. Fact is we are not good at nation building, we are pretty good at killing terrorists. We then sink a ton of resources into nation building and it doesn't seem to work out. If Trump is effectively able to wipe out the taliban the nation building can come from within without another countries intervention.
Also watch Charlie Wilson's War it has some valuable lessons.
tldr; I get it you aren't going to watch any of that crap because you don't want to question your own opinion.

Why'd you have to show yourself to be a jerk with that last sentence?
You think you're some foreign policy expert because you watched a documentary and a movie?
I'm very aware of our past screw ups re foreign policy. Doesn't take a genius. What I don't see is you offering an opinion as to if Trump is a fool now or was simply a fool while he was campaigning. Oh - and Trump ain't "wiping out the Taliban" unless we plan on keeping forces there for the next fifty years. Which apparently is the plan.
If our military were to be unleashed to do the job they were designed to do without political interference, we could wipe out ISIS, the Taliban, Al Qaeda in a timely fashion...The problem is with every enemy combatant we kill more jump in to take their place...If the military was allowed to do what they have been trained to do, the locals would get so tired of being bombed every time Islamic extremists popped up again, and living in a perpetual war zone, they would rise up against the radical Islamic groups themselves...It's not our duty to rebuild [BLEEP]! Bomb the [BLEEP] out of them, kill them, withdraw until they start their [BLEEP] again...repeat as necessary...
Nearly every POTUS I have lived through always thinks they have a great plan for things, only to find out when they get into office that there is a lot more they did not know than they did know...Classified info isn't available to people running, so no candidate has every bit of info needed to make a fully informed plan for anything and has to change horses in the middle of the stream...
