The Jets are in essence totally rebuilding.  It's unlikely that the QB who will attempt to lead them back to the playoffs and beyond is currently on their roster.   The fact that they are currently 8 point underdogs in their season opener at Buffalo speaks volumes of what the perception of the Jets is entering the 2017 regular  season.   As long as Jermaine Kearse stays relatively healthy and focused this season,  I think he can be a significant part of their future.

Whoa, that is really bad. But if that was an isolated incident and the other issues did not exist, I am not sure he would have been trade bait just for driving too fast.

Some would say the Jets are destructing and won't really start their rebuild until March 9, 2018. This trade is one more reason to believe the conspiracy theory they are tanking.

The combination of the driving incident and the other baggage likely played a major role in the Jets moving on.  That much more with them having 2 other building block Defensive Lineman that are also better suited in the interior than on the edge.   

For all practical purposes,  the Jets decisions this year will almost certainly lead to them having a top 10 pick.  With a top 5 pick more likely than not and the # 1 pick a very realistic possibility.
