When was "that D" not nasty? When the media  talks about down years for the Seahawks, they are comparing different seasons with the same personnel.

There are SO MANY things I was to say to this post.  So. Many.  Instead, I'll stay on topic.

The Seahawks adding a lineman of Richardson's caliber makes them more formidable.  They haven't been quite as potent recently, but still good.

Absolutely. The Jets wanted to get rid of Sheldon Richardson partly because of his locker room issues and had been looking to trade him since last season. It certainly did not help SR that he had a statistical down year as well, but in Seattle I expect him to rebound with much better coaches and teammates.

Throw in the "we could've given them Hurns" and that should cover it.

Great trade for the Jets. They receive a 2nd Round pick AND a WR who has been a starter on consistently winning teams for a very talented player. But a player with a problematic character history and is scheduled to become an UFA in 2018.

Locker room issues were probably the main reason New York started shopping Sheldon Richardson last year. His 2016 statistics were misleading.

It will be interesting to see how Jermaine Kearse plays with three bad quarterbacks after being spoiled with Russell Wilson the last few years.

Driving at 143mph with 3 passengers in a vehicle certainly didn't help Sheldon Richardson's cause with the Jets either.

The Jets are in essence totally rebuilding.  It's unlikely that the QB who will attempt to lead them back to the playoffs and beyond is currently on their roster.   The fact that they are currently 8 point underdogs in their season opener at Buffalo speaks volumes of what the perception of the Jets is entering the 2017 regular  season.   As long as Jermaine Kearse stays relatively healthy and focused this season,  I think he can be a significant part of their future.

Whoa, that is really bad. But if that was an isolated incident and the other issues did not exist, I am not sure he would have been trade bait just for driving too fast.

Some would say the Jets are destructing and won't really start their rebuild until March 9, 2018. This trade is one more reason to believe the conspiracy theory they are tanking.

The combination of the driving incident and the other baggage likely played a major role in the Jets moving on.  That much more with them having 2 other building block Defensive Lineman that are also better suited in the interior than on the edge.

For all practical purposes,  the Jets decisions this year will almost certainly lead to them having a top 10 pick.  With a top 5 pick more likely than not and the # 1 pick a very realistic possibility.

It seems like everyone outside Florham Park is predicting the NFL's worst record. The Jets spent all offseason confronting the question about tanking for a QB because of who they've traded, waived, and cut. Of course, Sheldon Richardson is not one of the guys I would cite in making that accusation because he has problems under his helmet.

If Andrew Luck misses a large portion of the season because of the injury he's dealing with  (  I'm not predicting this will happen ),  the Colts probably will also be a major contender for the 1st pick of the 2018 Draft.

The Browns have a long way to go to prove they aren't a contender for the top pick again.

Of course injuries that could occur will change the complexion of the season,  like is the case every season.
