Well, I gave cord cutting a try, and its just not for me right now.

First I tried DirecTV NOW. The no DVR and lack of NFL Network was a deal breaker for me. How does the company that has rights to NFL Sunday Ticket not include NFL Network in their streaming package?

I tried Sling. It was a little better, but I simply couldn't handle not having FOX News Channel. It also lacks the weather channel. Also had a lot of buffering issues with it.

I tried PS Vue. It was decent as well, but was lacking Viacom channels, in particular, Nick Jr. for the kids, so that was a deal breaker.

None of the services had local channels, so I had to stream those through separate apps. I am too lazy to jump back and forth between services, and if I Frankenstein what I actually want, it ends up being more than cable/satellite anyway. Not to mention what appears to be a 30-45 second lag on live sports. I just can't have that.

I will try again in a couple years.
