It almost felt that you were ready to say the front office didn’t do enough to help him then you started naming the things the did like drafting wideouts in the second round, drafting guards, signing tight ends, adding running backs and then you said “damn they actually did do a lot for this guy” lol

Just poking some fun but at some point Bortles has to improve himself. We can’t place the accountably on all the the other players around him and he hasn’t put in enough work to throw a decent spiral after 4 offseasons. He just has regressed terribly and has shown himself to not be the guy. Sucks for us but it is what it is.

Good point. Julius Thomas AND Toby Gerhart. Two great signings that helped Bortles. Haha

The three picks directly after Bortles were Marqise, Arob, and Linder.

Yeah, I don't want to say that they didn't do anything in the draft, because they did, but they didn't do enough when you consider the lack of pre-existing talent and how less-than-stellar most of the draft picks turned out to be. He's been relying mostly on UDFAs.

But, the free agency thing has been the biggest issue. You can't have a bunch of draft picks and UDFA's with no real veteran leadership and expect much. They've only signed one big money offensive free agent in 4 years and he was bad.
