The OL the past 2 seasons have pass protected better than we've seen any OL do since 07. While run blocking was still poor, it has improved slightly to this season.
The RB group has gotten better every season for Bortles since he was drafted.
And an all star borderline elite defense was built to back him up.

And he still isn't playing well. Inaccurate, sporadic, and decision making is still iffy.
He's in his 4th year. He's a top 5 pick. He's been outplayed by 7th rounders and 1st rounders drafted before and after him on equally mediocre teams.

I'm not saying Bortles has the best team around him. But I've said in many other posts... if you draft a dude top 5 and you ALSO need to build an elite D an elite run game and have 3 star WRs and a stud at TE............ well good luck with all that.
Bortles should be better than he is by now. He isn't.
There is no two ways about it. Dude has some talent... just not enough, not enough to warrant his draft spot (not his fault) and not enough to warrant keeping him (time to be some other teams project)

Right. When does Bortles himself just need to play better? When does he elevate his game? I see all qbs deal with dropped passes and bad olines but they do their jobs as a qb to keep finding the open man and consistently deliver the ball on time. That’s what the good ones do. Thats how Luck has been carrying his team these past few years. He keeps finding the open man even with a linemen hitting him ever play. Hilton drops passes just like an other wideout but Luck consistently finds him when he’s open and puts the ball on the money. 

The sad part is they aren’t even asking Blake to do a lot and he still can’t take advantage of his decreased workload as well as advantageous matchups. He is what he is.
