Jags, Just Get A Great QB, And Let's Win It All Next Year!

Bortles is a bad QB in crunch time, this will be a major problem next year with a very difficult schedule and improved division. I'm not sure how much Cousins is about to be paid, but he is a very clear upgrade and can probably be afforded next year and beyond. I'm not an expert on the cap, but there will be vets that can be cut in the coming years to clear space (both safeties, Dareus, Parnell, Hurns, Campbell). Only Jack and Ramsey (and maybe ARob) are the only guys needed to be paid soon. The time is now to win. There is no guarantee Jags are able to snag a developmental QB to groom behind him in the draft. The free agent class next year includes, A Smith, Matt Ryan (not going to hit the market) and Tyrod. Bortles isn't going to make less than 19 mil in his next contract from the Jags. And football is a team game. The Redskins defense has been in the bottom 10 the last 3 years (bottom 5 twice) and Cousins has led them to 24 wins those three years. Bortles needs the easiest schedule in the league and the top defense to squeak to 10 wins. |
