It will get trashed because Blake but it's a much plan than just having him play on the option.   

If you keep him on the option and he balls out this year then you have to pay either pay him another 25 million guaranteed on the franchise tag, or sign him to a mega contract. 

Option tag + franchise tag = 45 guaranteed over 2 years.  

This is 26 at most for 3 years.
