Bill Parcells went 3-12 in his first year as a head coach. He didn't beat a single team with a winning record. That was a Giants team with Lawrence freaking Taylor on it. The next year Phil Simms was drafted by the Giants.
Parcells first year with the Patriots wasn't much better at 5-11.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
