Seriously though, I think they must be setting themselves up for a strategy of some kind in the draft - even if it is simply to go BAP. 

It certainly appears that way right? Seems like they want all of their starting spots filled before the draft so they can not worry about using picks to move up.  Or so they can just take their favourite player each round. 

I think they are trying to balance maximising this window AND allowing us to prosper years from now.

You mean they aren't mutually exclusive??
