Oh stop, it's (well, used to be) a harmless social event that we could all take a moment to enjoy. Now politics is killing those simple social things to our detriment.
Agree the political divide has killed quite a few seemingly innocent gatherings. But really in the realm of important things, this just isn’t one of them in my opinion. By the way, the ethics comment is more me being snarky than anything. It’s the type of argument you’d see today in an effort to squash the gathering. I don’t think any of us would be surprised to find this in some so-called news outlet.
