It's true that many receivers have looked great in training camp and pre-season games only to disappoint when given the opportunity during regular season games. Mike Sims-Walker heads my list of disappointing receivers. None other than Vic Ketchman basically predicted he'd be the 2nd coming of Jimmy Smith, yet injuries kept him from ever amounting to anything in the NFL.

Nobody really knows whether Lazard will make it as an NFL receiver OR tight end. Just because other guys let us down doesn't mean he won't find a spot on this roster. He has always been extremely productive and defintitely has football intelligence. Who would have thought someone like Adam Thielen of the Vikings would make the list of top 100 players? There are many examples of players who may lack elite size and/or speed yet continually produce on the field. I have a hunch Lazard will fall into this category and don't care whether it's as a wide receiver or tight end.
