Guys like Aaron Kaumpman, Greg Favors, Paul Spicer, Reggie Hayward, etc.

Fowler has done more than any of those guys while missing his rookie season. 2.5 sacks against the Patriots. That’s big time. He scored a TD and should have had another against the Browns.

This guy is a playmaker and a game changer.

Maybe it becomes a number game with our Dline costing too much. But I’d give up Jackson and Dareus to keep Fowler. That’s just me. DE are hard to come by.

But we have the top DE duo in the NFL with Calais and Yannick. You would decimate the defensive interior to keep a backup DE? That makes no sense. I realize we're probably gonna have to cut Jackson after this season just to stay under the salary cap. I hate it, but I'm assuming that's why we drafted Bryan, to take over as his replacement. As much as I don't like it, I can live with it though. Dareus on the other hand, has to either be retained or we MUST find a suitable replacement for him. There is a HUGE dropoff in the run defense when Dareus is not in there. I honestly believe a run stopping NT is what we will target in the 2019 draft, so we can make Dareus expendable. Until that happens though, Dareus is the key to our run defense.
