All I know is on replay, Taven did a full 360 looking around in front off an OL guy. Probably looking for the QB that was running out in the flat sure, but didn't seem to locate him, ever lol
Just looking lost in general, rookie stuff? Sure... but why is he in the game when we're getting whooped? More coaching questions to me more than a knock on Taven. I never expected him to be much more than part time rotation... it seems Campbell has been dinged more than normal and probably forced Bryan into more snaps than they planned, but then... why is Smoot inactive altogether, wouldn't the vet be better if the rookie is too green?
We're talking about the same play. he did the full 360 after finally getting off his block and didn't see Dak zooming to the sideline. He wouldn't have been able to catch him even if he did see him at that point.
Just seemed like good blocking from the left side of Dallas' line to me. I guess if you wanted to you could read into it that Taven has some awareness issue or something, but I didn't get that.
The fact that a LB or safety couldn't get over there to stop Dak from sprinting up the sideline for 28 yards was a greater concern to me personally.
BCBCouch on Twitter posted a very clear clip of the play.
You may be right about Dak being well away from him. But if you get a chance to catch the clip, he gets turned around to where he is actually looking at Dak running out in the flat, and spins back around to face the LT.
Denny Thompson posted the original clip with the tag line "Is Taven Bryan high?"
Which was my thought when I saw it live. But honestly, it's one of the few times I've noticed him all season, not really trying to harp on the guy... was just pointing out that the Boys game had a lot of issues on D...
and then I went on to still put the L on the offense.
To your point about the LB and S, I fully agree.
Church and Smith have not played up to par, imo, this season. Church especially.

You'd be amazed to see what a difference one player can make. Since Corey Luiget returned to the Charger lineup, the Charger defense has played exponentially better, allowing 24 points in two games.
Yeah... but I think that "one player" difference is magnified when its a lineman. OL or DL.
We're talking about bringing back a RB... which is nice and all... but unless he's gonna help block... I think we're in for some troublesome days ahead. Blake under pressure is surely gonna be "bad Blake" more often than not
