I think it is a blow to the Jaguars, because the purchase would have given Khan a stranglehold on the lucrative London games, with more control over when we play and more opportunity to make money from the games. Missing out means we lose all that and the door opens for other teams to get a foothold in the market (maybe at White Hart Lane).

Despite the embarrassing British media reports, this was never about moving the Jaguars, it was about strengthening the Jaguars. And that’s what we’ve lost.

(And on your final point, I don’t think it’s the English fans who are to blame, it’s the short-sighted, small-minded, blazer-wearing old farts who make up the FA Council and who have held English soccer back for decades)
