Fournette is a good back that requires good blocking. He lacks the skill set to improvise out of bad blocking and create yardage. Lots of other backs around the league possess that skill. 

That said - he actually did impress me yesterday by working his way back along the line to an open lane at one point yesterday.  So it's possible. He just rarely shows it. But on a subsequent drive he may have  left a TD on the field by cutting back inside when the sideline was wide open for a guy with his straight line speed. It's not that he's completely unable to do these things, he's just not nearly as good at it as a pretty large number of backs.

So yeah, he's a good back behind a stout line, he's just not the total package you should be getting with that draft pick.

I hope LF pulls it together in 2019! I know money changes players. Only the true passionate ones make a career based on production and performance. Do I question his passion for the game?? Maybe.

I wonder if in the off season he does what OBJ did and takes care of his body and works out, works on his craft, and gets better, or magically sits around and let his natural born abilities continue to carry him out of the NFL after his rookie deal.
