I don't believe you can really know if you need a bridge qb until you get to camp and get a good look at the rookie. If it turns out you don't need one because he's good enough out of the gate, then even better. It's still good knowing you have a qb of Blake's caliber as your backup considering he's not costing any more than what we'd pay for another probably inferior backup.

I agree that the only thing that matters is what's best for the team moving forward. That means they need to cut Blake and move on from him.

I know people frown upon BCC (they do post some terrible articles) but this one is about the cap.

That article is talking about releasing all sorts of players we'd rather keep such as Gipson and Calais. Also, the projections for next year's cap already account for the cap increase so there is no additional money there.  This is the worst cap situation the Jaguars have been in for quite some time.
