Explosion at Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England

Quote:Ok. Where do we start? ( Let's pretend Trump didn't claim he had a plan and would get rid of them quickly)

This schmoe was born in Britain with Libyan descent. He was British. How many here are American with descendants from other places...besides all of us? But what to do? Hey..you're an American citizen, but your great grandfather was from Libya, or Iraq, or Iran or..even...dare I say...Saudi Arabia?

This kill em all and let Allah sort them out is good chest thumping bravado that is useless. Ever try to get rid of all the roaches in a place...forever?

With the internet being a huge issue, how do combat that?

Somehow, the leaders must be taken care of..but then. We got Osama. ...Help any?

It isn't like a normal war like WW2 or 1. There are no borders, rules, accountability, morals and plain decency.

Even harsher punishments don't help. Damn, when you WANT to die? What deterrent is there?

I dunno. Frustrated as we all are for sure.

Beer thirty...and it's not even close to noon.
Being born in Britain is irrelevant.  He spent a lot of time in Libya, and more recently in Syria.  Not exactly hot spots for vacation destinations.  Pretty much his entire family still lives in Libya.  His father reportedly was a member of al Qaeda back in the 1990s.  This is not some kid who was born and raised in the UK who embraced the western culture.  The Brits were already aware of his activities when the bombing occurred.  They had an inkling that he had become radicalized.  They were simply slow on the uptick in recognizing where he was at in that progression.

What do we do in the US?

  • We should be restrained in who we allow into the country legally, and those immigrants should be better monitored than they are currently.
  • We should be doing a better job of securing our borders to assure that this element doesn't come in through our southern border.  We should be monitoring activities that might be considered supportive of radical views.
  • We should root out any suspected cells aggressively.
  • We should drop this crazy politically correct nonsense where we refuse to say anything offensive about the perpetrators of these crimes for fear of reprisal.
That's a good start.

The rising level of violence perpetrated by Muslim immigrants in Europe is a direct result of their liberal immigration policies.  This kid was born in the UK, but only because his al Qaeda father was allowed in.  How many stories will we read about in the future where we'll see the children of Syrian refugees perpetrating the same kind of violence?  We'll see.  It's becoming far more frequent in Europe, that's for certain.  We don't want that cancer to become the norm there, and we absolutely don't want to see that spreading to this side of the Atlantic.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
