That's not true. Avenatti did involve himself but the delay tactics had already begun by the time he showed up on the scene. Avenatti only found one of the accusers who was willing to give a statement, and she came forward pretty late in the game, after they had already decided to let the first accuser testify.
His whole M.O. was to try to put himself at the center of whatever the Democratic party or liberal activists happened to be up to, and get his name in the news more prominently than any of theirs.
He was basically doing what Trump did to the Republicans and conservatives, but with no name recognition outside of politics, a lot less subtlety, and a lot more aggressive of a schedule. The dude should have gotten a non-polical reality TV show where a bunch of people line up to tell him how great he is every week first.
