Michael Avenatti Arrested

#1

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/michael-avenat...ories.html

"Avenatti, who was arrested in New York City on Monday morning, stands accused of attempting to extort Nike for $20 million in New York and faces additional charges of bank- and tax-fraud in California."

My once hopeful Dem Candidate for the 2020 election seems to be going in the wrong direction.  This is almost becoming hilarious...

Note to Self:  Don't buy any Avenatti-Sanders in 2020 bumper stickers.

Me sarcastic? No couldn't be. I am much too dim witted to grasp the quaint subtleties of such potent mockery!!!

I believe Geragos was Colin Kaepernick's lawyer as well.

Folks, keep in mind that the democrats tried to kill the nomination of a Supreme Court nominee based on "facts" this guy presented.

That's not true. Avenatti did involve himself but the delay tactics had already begun by the time he showed up on the scene. Avenatti only found one of the accusers who was willing to give a statement, and she came forward pretty late in the game, after they had already decided to let the first accuser testify.
His whole M.O. was to try to put himself at the center of whatever the Democratic party or liberal activists happened to be up to, and get his name in the news more prominently than any of theirs.
He was basically doing what Trump did to the Republicans and conservatives, but with no name recognition outside of politics, a lot less subtlety, and a lot more aggressive of a schedule. The dude should have gotten a non-polical reality TV show where a bunch of people line up to tell him how great he is every week first.

Not really. The credible accusations of Christine Ford were considered. The crap from Avennati was sent in one ear and out the other

CNN had this guy on rotation basically daily because he was teasing Julie Sweatnick as a victim. The montage they showed in Tucker is classic.

CNN has a big problem were they're expected to provide 24 hours of original content based on only maybe 2 hours at most of newsworthy stuff to talk about on a good day. All of the 24-hour news networks overemphasize stuff for this reason alone. They just pick different stuff to overemphasize.

Yeah, and then the "story" about how Kavanaugh was part of rape gangs and "down the line" style sexual assaults finally came out, and everybody not named Michael Avenatti or Julie Swetnik immediately dismissed it as a total hoax. You know what I think of Kavanaugh, and even I blew her off (no pun intended) as soon as her claims reached the light of day. You want to talk about someone who should be prosecuted, look at her.

Most people on here are too young to remember the test pattern and 1kHz tone (or just white noise) that TV stations showed after midnight. Sometimes I think they should bring it back.

You mean when they played the national anthem before going off air? Those were the days!

I got to admit, I got the Swetnick one wrong.  I had assumed that she must be credible because she took an oath and therefore would be prosecuted if it wasn't true.  But her statement is more provocative and deceptive than definitive.  She probably won't be prosecuted because her statements were so nebulous in the first place.  Just because they are difficult to negate doesn't make them credible.  But she did lose her job right?

If she did, that's not enough. There is literally zero doubt in anyone's mind that whatever Kavanaugh did to Dr. Ford, he was not part of any "rape gangs". It was just another sensationalist headline grab by Avenatti, and anyone left thinking that Swetnik wasn't making it all up need only look at the sort of claims and actions Avenatti brings forth. The dude tried to blackmail Nike. Nike! What kind of idiot tries to blackmail Nike then brags about it? Maybe the kind who feels invincible because he's gotten away with that sort of thing before?

Ahh, the days of UHF/VHF 13 channels, the evening news, National Anthem, and then after midnight white noise.
