Ignore JW, I think you are on the right track.

 

McClain is a journalist and he has to produce a column and he did so. I thought he gave reasonable takes on why he thinks things will go a certain way. Just his opinion.

 

His opinion can change as we get closer to the draft. McClain has been around a long time and I think he can get a feel for when the team is blowing smoke. Which will come later when we get close to the actual draft.
