I don't want that to happen. I want them to sign him to a new deal this week, but I can't help but realize that the Allen draft pick gives them some flexibility here.

Seeing what Jack is capable of in his second year at full time MLB is also important to this conversation. We need to be sure he's worthy of the payday before we start setting aside his next contract.  I'm optimistic he'll prove worthy, but we need to see it.

I love Allen as a prospect, but Ngakoue is proven. Sign him right now and you have your two young pass rushers locked up for at least 4-5 years. You then don't really have to worry much about that area again for a good amount of time. Ngakoue just turned 24, 2 months ago and Allen will be 22 in July.

It would be a big mistake to let your Franchise's best young pass rusher walk in Ngakoue right now, regardless of how Allen preforms this season. He and Ramsey must be paid.

Pay Ngakoue right now and Ramsey next off season. You then worry about Jack and his contract situation. It would really suck to lose him, but Ramsey and Ngakoue take priority, without a doubt.
