You can back load a 5 year contract to make it average 20 million a year, but structure it so the bulk of the money comes in the last 2 years. For instance pay him $12 million the first year, $14 million the 2nd year, $15 million the 3rd year, $18 million the 4th year and $31 million in year 5 with $73 million guaranteed. It would look terrible on paper (and it is), but if you just looked at the totals it's way worse. In reality you cut him in the final year of the deal, it wouldn't be nearly as bad. Hopefully, we aren't stupid enough to pay this much for a CB though. The current top deal for a CB is $75 million, averaging $15,050,000 and $50 million guaranteed, so we just have to beat that. If Ramsey asks for $20 million a year, we'd be absolutely nuts to pay that. That's 5 million more per year, than the next closest guy. He'd literally price himself out of the league.
