Not that I am ever overly fond of holdouts, but this is one reason I am encouraged.  If the team refused to even talk to him about a new deal, or somehow the talks have completely broken off and there's animosity, etc., then there's ample reason to worry.

But based on what I've heard, it hasn't gotten to that point.
