I would say Dareus is more of a true nose than Abry Jones, but he had most of his success as a 3T

At this point, yes Datone Jones is the backup big end to Campbell. 

My earlier analysis was on the inside positions, but nothing really changes viewing Bryan as the big end.

Campbell easily starts over Bryan.  D Jones also starts over him.

In an obvious pas rush situation, Campbell goes inside, and Ngakoue, Allen, and McCray all play before Bryan outside, and based on this year, Smoot would even be better.

At this stage, about the one thing that distinguishes Bryan from Alualu is power.
Power is certainly one aspect of his game, but I think your analysis of Bryan is a little harsh at this point playing with the backups. Marrone seems very pleased with him so far in camp and I am not ready to make a judgment on his performance until I see him this week. One thing for sure as you pointed out he has a lot of competition D Jones and Smoot elevating thier games this year and this may be a make or break year for him.
