You can twist it however you want.  He can still be critical part of the defense without being one of the top performers.  He can still be a critical part by just playing decent as a rookie and not totally [BLEEP] up...thereby creating a hole at his position.

On a side note, I'm having trouble finding anywhere that Heilman says he is a critical part of the defense...but I could be missing it.

How many "critical" parts of the defense do we have then? 11? 

If you want to change the meaning of the word "critical" to "solid" well then yeah being a solid piece of the defense is in his realm of possibility, but like most rookies it's more likely they're below average out of the gate. (And yes he can be below average and still solid depending on play)

Meh, football is football.

Taven Bryan is no better because he played at Florida and was a 1st round pick.

In fact, at their respective positions, I'd say Quincy Williams is already better than Taven Bryan ever will be.
