You'd have to have a player of ridiculous value fall into your lap to ignore actual needs or be very close to a complete roster to select purely based on BAP.  We have this discussion every year and it's amazing how many people still believe in pure BAP like it's the Easter Bunny.

I agree, but IMO, there are a handful of truly elite players in this draft (Burrow, Young, Thomas, Wirfs, Okudah, Brown, Judy and Lamb) and then there is a big dropoff. That's not to say there aren't other really good players available in round 1, but those are guys that are the top of the top. If we're in position to get one of those elite players (with the excepetion of Young, since we are already 4 deep at DE), we gotta take it. With our second pick in round 1 and from there on out, we draft the BAP at a position of need, but when you pick inside the top 10, you try to get an elite player.
