Dalton's big issues are his pocket presence has regressed every year, he has zero ability to read the middle of the field, and he can't challenge the intermediate sidelines consistently because he has average velocity. He can beat you with the short game, intermediate inside the hashes (but also where he gets punished with his mistakes), and the occasional jump ball deep pass to Green.

All in all, he's a fine rookie contract QB for a good team. Unfortunately, his rookie contract is almost up and the Bengals are going to almost be forced to give him a Jay Cutleresque deal that will kill their salary cap and cost them their great defense. That's when QB purgatory kills ya, when it's time for that second contract and you suddenly have a very expensive average QB.
