I think between the injury and the coach staff not playing to his strengths, maybe because of injury, he took a step back mid season but still, reasonably, could improve.

Arob is just trying to get a long term big money pay day. Play nice with current team and hope they lock him up. They have an out after this year, he doesn't want them to use it... and they shouldn't. He's getting better post injury.
