He stepped up the blitz aggression and split edge rushers wide more often for sure. 

Now - can he apply that concept to his secondary back seven? 

I sometimes feel like the zone issues are twofold. Wash isn't coaching it well and he's being saddled with players that are better at man coverage and struggle playing zone. 
(of course his tendency to back off when up on the scoreboard just needs to end forever LOL)

A lot more standup looks from Allen and Yannick too. 

Dunno if you saw on twitter but I called for them to force Wash to either hire or promote someone into a passing game coordinator role. Let someone else draw up coverage and pair it to the front 7..wash can still call the plays but let someone else take on that on. 

Also yes that particular traits is one of the infuriating things about him.
